A student can get credit in a UNSW award for a course (subject) studied at another institution if the school delivering the course at UNSW deems the course (subject) or a combination of courses (subjects) from the other institution/s to be equivalent. Students may be granted credit from studies undertaken at more than one institution provided that the courses (subjects) studied are recognised by UNSW as being equivalent. The amount of credit that can be given in any award is governed by the program rules and the rules covering credit. Credit will only be granted for courses (subjects) studied in an award in the past 9 years. You can browse by Institution, Home Institution courses or UNSW Courses.
This tool can help you determine your eligibility for credit by looking at the precedents established for courses previously assessed for credit by the schools. To have your credit formally approved you must complete this form and submit it. If a course is not listed you can still apply for a credit assessment by adding it to the form and including the required information before you submit it. From time to time credit precedents will change so the tool is to be used as a guide. The final approval for credit resides with the School offering the course. See also Articulation.
